I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Events and Celebrations
We give a tip of the hat to NATIONAL POLICEWOMEN’S DAY. These brave ladies not only face the everyday hazards of the job but have had to overcome a few obstacles along the way. Being a police officer is a demanding job that takes commitment and thick skin, and these women are up to the task. Thank you for protecting and serving us.
NATIONAL DAY OF ENCOURAGEMENT comes along at a good time. Give someone that little pep talk they need or a “way to go” after an accomplishment. It is much better to lift each other up than tear each other down.
NATIONAL REPORT MEDICARE FRAUD DAY was started by Joel D. Hirsch, a lawyer who worked for the DOJ on Medicare fraud cases. About $65 billion a year is lost to this seemingly victimless crime, but it is something we all pay for in the end. If you are aware of someone committing this crime you can contact the Department of Justice, or the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
NATIONAL BOSS/EMPLOYEE EXCHANGE DAY could turn out to be a day of insight or a day of disaster. By switching places for a day, you get to see how the other half lives and what their job entails. As long as the train doesn’t run off the track, it could be beneficial and fun.
NATIONAL JUST ONE HUMAN FAMILY DAY is a reminder that all of us on this Earth are in it together. The more we can help each other and take care of our home planet – the better off we all will be.
NATIONAL VIDEO GAMES DAY celebrates those addictive time-wasting sources of entertainment that can easily draw you in. Before video games, there were pinball machines, afterwards – there are phone apps. You can still find an arcade or two here and there, or you can break out your old Atari, Nintendo or Sega. I know those are old school compared to X-Box and PlayStation, but you have to go with what you know.
Our dessert of the day may just take you back in time. CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE DAY mixes it up just right. Make it so thick that it barely goes through the straw. The anticipation of that chocolaty creamy taste will be that much better.

Thank you, God, for a wonderful day and for all of these amazing people. Please watch over them and bless them. I would also pray for protection for all of our brave men and women in law enforcement. I ask this in your name, Jesus, Amen.
