I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Events and Celebrations
Art, in all of its forms is central to NATIONAL GOE DAY. Growth-Overcome-Empower are key elements to those who have suffered abuse and trauma and this day looks to connect them with art. Museums, libraries, and galleries can all be great places to provide a safe, healing atmosphere and help those who need it.
A tip of the hat goes out to CUSTODIAN WORKERS RECOGNITION DAY. These hard-working folk keep our workplaces, schools, hospitals and other establishments spic and span. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
GUARDIAN ANGELS DAY and INTERNATIONAL COMMUNION DAY bring us into the spiritual realm. I believe in angels and know more than a few people who have seen their guardians. All I know is that some of you keep your guardian angels very busy. Communion is about deepening our relationship with God through Christ and bringing the church closer together. I would say that is very much needed.
A newscaster from St. Louis, John Pertzborn, created NAME YOUR CAR Day. His ’54 Buick would “shake, rattle and roll” so he called it “Elvis”. What’s a good name for your vehicle?
What better way to start National Seafood Month than with FRIED SCALLOPS DAY. These tasty morsels are better not being over cooked and go great with an ice-cold beer.
Halloween is coming up and NATIONAL SMARTIES DAY comes just in time. Did you know that this candy has been around since 1949, is free from the nine major food allergies, is gluten-free and is still being made by the same original family. This is probably as healthy as candy can get.

Dear Heavenly Father, there are so many victims of abuse and trauma. Please let them know that they are loved and that they didn’t deserve to go through that. Heal their minds, bodies, and souls so they may be whole. I ask this in your name, Jesus, Amen.
