Kev’s Daily Take On 10/07/2022

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands,
One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Events and Celebrations

Wear your teal in support of TRIGEMINAL NEURAGENAL AWARENESS DAY.  This painful condition affects the largest cranial group of nerves and causes severe pain in the jaw and face.  Let’s shine our awareness spotlight on this condition today.

INNER BEAUTY DAY not only encourages all of us to show our best side – ourselves – but partners with an anti-human trafficking campaign.  If you want more information on how to make a difference, check out the National Human Trafficking Hotline.

NATIONAL MANUFACTURING DAY gets our tip of the hat for the day.  I gotta say, there is nothing like a smooth-running operation that gets the goods out.  When everything is working right and comes together, MADE IN AMERICA stands for something great.

WORLD SMILE DAY 😊😁

World Smile Day can be part of NATIONAL BODY LANGUAGE DAY.  What is your body telling the rest of us?  Hopefully that you are doing just fine. If not, give me a shout and we can talk.

NATIONAL LED LIGHT DAY celebrates the brighter, cleaner burning bulb that has enlightened us.

Here’s a sweet combo for ya – NATIONAL FRAPPE DAY and CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZEL DAY.  Creamy, chocolaty and salty are the words to describe this paring.  Ok, the chocolate covered pretzel has to get dipped in the mocha frappe.

On this day…

1913 – Henry Ford’s assembly line in Highland Park, Michigan starts rolling out the chassis for the Model-T.  Probably why National Manufacturing Day is today

1916 – Georgia Tech and Cumberland University of Tennessee play the highest scoring college game ever – if you could call it a game – Georgia scored 32 touchdowns to win 222-0

1959 – Cue Pink Floyd – NASA takes the first photos of the dark side of the moon

1971 – The French Connection with Gene Hackman premiers in New York and LA.  It showcases one of the most iconic car chases in movie history

1983 – Sean Connery reprises his role as 007 in Never Say Never Again.  Connery had “retired” and Roger Moore assumed the role of James Bond in 1973.  Connery was talked back out of retirement to make this film for a different producer other than EON Productions.  It was, in my opinion, probably the least Bond-like of all of the films

1985 – Lynette Woodward becomes the first woman to put on a Harlem Globetrotters jersey

1996 – Fox News Channel hits the airwaves

2001 – We take the Afghanistan War to the Taliban after 9/11

Happy Birthday to…

LORD, I can’t thank You enough for this wonderful world and the amazing people You have put in it.  Man may commit his atrocities, but You are bigger, and Your beauty, love and hope prevail.  Amen.
