Kev’s Daily Take On 11/01/2022

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands,
One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Religious Holidays

ALL SAINTS DAY has been observed since 609 A.D. and honors all of the saints who have been canonized as well as those who are still unknown.

A Tip of the Hat Goes to…

NATIONAL AUTHORS DAY celebrates the writers who bring us our reading material.  Read something from your favorite author today or go buy their latest work.

NATIONAL BIOLOGIC COORDINATORS DAY – these are the people who work in the dermatologist office and guide the patients journey from the time they get their drugs prescribed until they have them in hand.  Working with both the doctors and the pharmacists, these folks make sure you get the medicine you need.

Awareness Spotlight shines on…

AUTISTICS SPEAKING DAY gives this special part of the population a voice.  Today, people with autism will take to social media and other platforms to talk about issues that are important to them.

Our Furry Friends

COOK FOR YOUR PET DAY calls for more spoiling of our loveable furry family members.  This may seem a little extravagant to some, while others do this for their pets every day.

Education and Information

FAMILY LITERACY DAY allows us to reap the benefits of a family that reads together.  Reading to your children makes for great bonding. When they get older, start a family book club where everyone reads the same book and then reviews it – I stole this idea from my in-laws.

NATIONAL BRUSH DAY follows Halloween, a day known for its candy consumption.  Follow the ADA’s guidelines and brush at least twice a day and floss once daily.  A healthy mouth can mean a healthy body, while poor dental care can actually lead to a host of health problems including heart disease.

For Fun

MEN MAKE DINNER DAY gives the gals a break as the men take over the kitchen duties.  Now that could mean actually cooking, grilling or being the one calls the restaurant for takeout.

On Today’s Menu…

NATIONAL VINEGAR DAY brings this slightly acidic ingredient to the forefront. Vinegar can make food taste better as well as clean your counter.  It also has some medicinal properties as well as being useful in the garden for pest control.

NATIONAL CINNAMON DAY is the spice of the season.  The wonderful aroma is everywhere, and this flavor can be found in coffees, desserts, snacks and anything that is pumpkin spiced.

DEEP FRIED CLAMS DAY invites us to dig in and snack on some of this golden fried seafood.  A cold frosty beer goes along great with this dish.

NATIONAL CALZONE DAY celebrates the pizza you can eat on the go.  Take some garlic and butter infused dough, shape it into a pocket and fill it with sauce, cheese and your favorite pizza toppings, then bake.  You are ready to enjoy this savory meal anywhere.
