American Graffiti comes rolling into theaters on this day in 1973

Education and Information

NATIONAL CAD DAY is all about Computer Aided Drafting. I remember sitting in drafting class using the T-Square and mechanical pencils. It wasn’t long after that computers came into the class room followed by CAD software. It does take away from some of the art in doing it by hand, but it is a whole lot easier and more efficient.
For Fun

Speaking of drawing, NATIONAL COLORING BOOK DAY brings out the inner child in all of us. If you’ve a mind to, grab some crayons or colored pencils and have at it. Nowadays, there are even apps on your phone to take you into a world of relaxing coloring.

Heads up for NATIONAL WATER BALLOON DAY. Fill ‘em up and toss ‘em at your favorite target(s). Just keep in mind, you are inviting payback.
Belly up to the Bar

Let’s raise a mug to INTERNATIONAL BEER DAY. Talk about a global event. People all over the world will be hoisting their suds and celebrating their favorite brew. I will have to go with my hometown beer, Amberbock, for this one.
On Today’s Menu…

Our first dessert of the day is a city in Minnesota. BRAHAM PIE DAY is not a particular kind of flavor, but a nod to quality made pies that started in the little town of Braham. People come from all over to sample the pie at the Park Café. Today, you will find a festive atmosphere in town with crafters, competitions, car shows and quilt displays. Man, it’s gotta be some good pie.

Our second dessert of the day is a cool treat. ICE CREAM SANDWICH DAY is the perfect remedy for a sweltering summer day.
