RESOLUTION PLANNING DAY is for those of you who make New Year’s resolutions. Planning in advance gives you a better chance of keeping those goals you have set for yourself. Since I am not a very disciplined person, I gave up on those a long time ago but for those who do make them – YOU CAN DO IT!
SODIUM BICARBONATE DAY gives a nod to this all-purpose chemical. It can make your bread rise, keep your refrigerator from smelling, clean your pots, help with a tummy ache and make that science project totally erupt.

FALLING NEEDLES FAMILY FEST DAY is all about helping our little piece of the planet. When your Christmas tree starts looking like a Charlie Brown tree it is time to recycle it. It can be used for mulch, to provide shelter to birds and fish as well as a windbreak. You can burn it in your firepit, but due to the oil in the firs and evergreens, not inside in the fireplace or wood burning stove.

NATIONAL BACON DAY celebrates the candy of meats. Since bacon goes with anything (and I mean anything), this will be an easy one to partake of.

1968 – Led Zeppelin is recorded live for the first time – on a handheld tape recorder – when they opened for Vanilla Fudge at a college gym at Washington State. You can still hear that recording today.
1980 – The Selective Service sends a notice to Disneyland that Michael M. Mouse was in danger of becoming a draft dodger if he did not comply with Federal regulations. A spokesperson for Disney said they would inform the Selective Service that he was well over the draft age at 52, was a WWII vet and was also a cartoon character.
2006 – Saddam Hussein is executed
