Religious Holidays

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM DAY makes us very thankful that we can worship any way we choose in this country without fear of ridicule, imprisonment or even death. That is certainly not the case in other parts of the world. As a matter of fact, some of the more restrictive countries are becoming stricter.
Celebrate You with…
WOMEN’S HEALTHY WEIGHT DAY encourages a fit lifestyle that doesn’t go overboard. The BMI (Body Mass Index) is a better gauge of your ideal weight than your bathroom scale. Mental and social stability are just as important as your physical wellbeing. Remember to love yourself, after all, each woman is beautiful inside and out – of course, I am married to the most beautiful one.
Education and Information

WITHOUT A SCALPEL DAY looks at the minimally invasive procedures that use image guidance to heal the body. This style of treatment requires no surgery and leaves no scars. Using X-rays and other imaging techniques, cancer, heart disease and back pain are just some of the diseases that can be treated. I have had the ultrasonic wave machine used on me to bust up some kidney stones. If you can benefit from these noninvasive procedures, I highly recommend them. Go to the Interventional Initiative to learn more.

Happy Birthday to…
Andre Michelin (1853-1931)
He, his brother and their detachable-pneumatic tires would change the auto industry

Frank Zamboni (1901-1988)
Guess what he invented

Ethel Merman (1909-1984)
She entertained us on Broadway and the Big Screen with her acting, singing and comedy – She is best known for Hello Dolly, Gypsy and Call Me Madam

Dizzy Dean (1911-1974)
A colorful pitcher for the Cardinals, he only played for five seasons, but he made each one count. In that time, he won 120 games and was both the league strikeout leader and league game winner four times.

Dian Fossey (1932-1985)
She loved her mountain gorillas and established a research center for them. However, her conservation efforts were not applauded by poachers and smugglers, and she was found murdered in her bed in 1985. That crime has never been solved.

A.J. Foyt (1935- )
The only race car driver to win the Indy 500 (4 times), Daytona 500, 24 Hours of Daytona and 24 Hours of Le Mans

John Carpenter (1948- )
My son’s favorite director – known for Halloween and The Thing

Albert Pujols (1980- )
This Cardinals player’s bat earned him 2 World Series Championships, numerous MVP awards, Rookie of the Year and 10 trips to the All-Star Game. Oh yeah, he hit 703 home runs in his career.
Most amazing God, we thank you for being able to live in a land where we can worship you without fear. Other places are not so. Please guide and protect those who are seeking you and may these other countries ease up on their restrictions. I ask this in your name, Jesus, Amen.
Enjoy the day and make it your own
