NATIONAL SAFE DAY is looking out for the kids. If you have any guns and kids are anywhere close, keep them locked up. Secure all firearms in the home – Ask others if they have firearms in their homes that your kids visit – Frequently talk to your kids about the dangers of firearms – Educate others about SAFE. No child should ever be harmed by a gun – especially in their own home.

OLD MAIDS DAY honors those who are not old nor a maid, but have a full life and enjoy, contribute, and choose to go their own way. The first Old Maids Day was observed in 1948 when Marion Richards held a festival honoring these notable ladies and the contributions they made to society. You women keep being you.
Belly up to the Bar

The end of the day calls for NATIONAL COGNAC DAY. This unique spirit has to be distilled from the Ugni Blanc grape, run through copper pot stills – twice, and then aged in French oak barrels for at least two years. It’s a lot of work, but the results are well worth it.
On Today’s Menu…

NATIONAL CHEESE DAY. Grab a block of some tasty cheese to celebrate life and all of its goodness. American, Muenster, Swiss, Gouda, or bleu, it doesn’t matter. Just pick your favorite and enjoy.
