HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all of the dads out there.  I will make today’s post short but sweet, so you can enjoy the day with your dad, calling your dad or remembering him.  Real quick story about mine.  When Mom and Dad knew I was coming along, Dad knew he wanted to play catch with his son someday, but he had never done it before.  So, he and my pregnant mom would go in the backyard and practice.  Fast forward a little, to those times when he and I would be tossing the ball back and forth.  It was almost magical and felt as if the rest of the world had stopped so we could play catch together – thank you Dad and I look forward to throwing the ball with you again. RIP.

For that Special Someone

For all of you lovers out there, today is SNEAK A KISS DAY.  Even though kissing may already be a big part of the relationship, sneaking a smooch adds a little to it.

Our Fossilized Friends

NATIONAL MEGALODON DAY takes a huge bite as this prehistoric shark is brought out of extinction.  With 276 serrated teeth, each about 7 inches long, and a gaping mouth spanning 8 to 11 feet, these creatures weighed around 60 tons and had a bite force of 40,000 lbs. psi.  If they want to have their own day, who are we to tell them no.

How about we spread something contagious that’s good?  NATIONAL SMILE POWER DAY encourages us to turn that frown upside down and smile at the world.  Smile at as many people as you can today and see how many reciprocate.

NANPA, or the North American Nature Photography Association started NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY DAY in 2009 to keep those shutters clicking on the beauty and wonder of nature.  Sometimes you happen to be in the right spot at the right time and just have to whip out the phone and snap a pic.

TURKEY LOVERS DAY is on the menu, and I am sure there are more than a few Dads who would enjoy some baked or fried bird today.
