We have Francis Pesek, of Detroit Michigan, to thank for CHEER UP THE LONELY DAY. He was looking to raise spirits in nursing homes and for those who are shut in. It’s a great idea, so if you happen across someone who is need of a smile and good company, oblige them.

After all of that do-gooding, you may be a little hungry and that would be a great time for NATIONAL STATE FAIR FOOD DAY. Break out the deep fryer for the corn dogs, funnel cakes, Oreos, and stick butter. If all of that salty cholesterol and fat make you thirsty you are in luck with 7-Eleven DAY. All 7-11s are offering a free Slurpee today. Now, I am not responsible for what all of that salt and sugar does to you – just keep that in mind.
NATIONAL FRENCH FRY DAY is just begging to be dipped in ketchup, mayo or a chocolate shake. Shoestring, steak, crinkled or tots, it is all on the menu today.

Now we have to wait a half hour before jumping into NATIONAL SWIMMING POOL DAY. That nice cool water will certainly refresh and invigorate you.
Let’s roll out the day with COLLECTOR CAR APPRECIATION DAY. Keeping these classic beauties restored and maintained keeps history and memories alive. We get a little thrill every time we see them cruising down the street or lined up at a car show. Thank you, car collectors, for your love of the hobby and keeping the oldies but goodies around.
