Military Honors
POW/MIA RECONIGTION DAY remembers those veterans who were held as prisoners of war and those who never made it home. We honor and thank the soldiers who served under such adverse conditions and pray for those who are missing and for their families.

AORTIC DISSECTION AWARENESS DAY shines a spotlight on a rare condition. The inner lining of the aorta can tear and leak blood. If it is caught in time, it can be repaired, otherwise it can be fatal. Symptoms include chest, upper back or stomach pain, loss of consciousness, leg pain or shortness of breath. These are much like the conditions of heart disease and if you experience these, seek medical help.

Careful, ye might just find yourself talkin’ like a scalawag and not even realizing it. Make sure not to walk the plank or end up in Davy Jones’ locker because dead men tell no tales.
