For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
A Tip of the Hat Goes to…

A tip of the hat goes to COMPLIANCE OFFICER DAY. These people make sure everyone is following the procedures and that the company is up to date on them. Thank you for what you do.

LUMBERJACK DAY cuts us down to size as we contemplate the life of a woodsman. A lot of work, a lot of fresh air and a lot of pancakes. Well, I know two out of three of those are true. Thank you for maintaining our forests.
Awareness Spotlight shines on…

NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SUICIDE AWARENESS DAY was created by BLUE H.E.L.P. (Honor, Educate, Lead, Prevent). Due to the constant exposure to trauma, more officers are lost to suicide than to felonious assault, and they have the highest risk for suicide out of any employment. Today, we honor those fallen heroes and hold all police in the highest regard for their dedication to serve and to protect. Go to Blue H.E.L.P. to find out more and see how you can help.

NATIVE AMERICAN DAY and MICHIGAN INDIAN DAY look to honor the original inhabitants of our land as well as the contributions they have and are making to society. From teaching us how to survive, fighting alongside of us in every war and educating us about their culture, they keep giving what they can. Let’s keep working to make things a little more equal for them. Some of the tribes that dwelt in the land of Michigan are the Ojibwe, the Odawa and the Potawatomi.

NATIONAL MESOTHELIOMA AWARENESS DAY looks to help those suffering from this cancer caused by asbestos and to educate the public. If you think you have come into contact with this stuff or know someone who has, check out Mesothelioma.org for answers.
Family and Friends

NATIONAL FAMILY DAY is all about hanging out with your loved ones. There has never been a better time than now.
Education and Information

NATIONAL SITUATIONAL AWARENESS DAY reminds us how important it is to be aware of our surroundings. Please, for safety’s sake and for those who care about you, know what’s going on around you.

NATIONAL DOODLE DAY is more than just random drawing. Epilepsy Action sponsors this day and the event that goes along with it. Celebrity authors, artists and sports personalities draw their doodles which are auctioned off to the highest bidder on eBay. The proceeds help out those who are dealing with epilepsy. That’s a pretty cool idea.

JOHNNY APPLESEED DAY tells us about John Chapman, the man who really cared about the environment. Plenty of myths abound concerning him, but in reality, he educated quite a few people on the growing of trees and took care of a lot of sick ones himself.
On Today’s Menu…

NATIONAL DUMPLING DAY is served hot. Dumplings come in many forms. Some with chicken, some stuffed and some just fried. Pick your favorite and enjoy.

NATIONAL CHIMICHANGA DAY celebrates another of those delicious dishes that came about by accident. The founder of Macayo’s, a Mexican restaurant, accidentally dropped a burrito into a deep fryer and found out that he had created something quite good. Incidentally, chimichanga in English, translates to “thingamajig”.

NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY is so good, it has to be celebrated twice a year. Get your short stack on with some golden griddlecakes, some creamy butter, and some thick maple syrup.
