Awareness Spotlight shines on…

RARE DISEASE DAY brings some much-needed attention to diseases that most people rarely hear about. In the U.S., 1 in 200,000 people is the classification for a disease to be rare. Resources are not as readily available for patients suffering from a rare disease, so, if you know of anyone who falls in that category, make sure and give them your support. Wear black and white stripes to show support.
For Fun

National LEAP DAY is only celebrated every four years and that makes this day very special. If your birthday is today, you need to celebrate four times as much as everyone else does on theirs. Many customs and traditions fall on this day – one of them being that in 1288 AD, Queen Margaret of Scotland made it a law that women could propose marriage on this day. However, they had to wear red petticoats to give the men a notion about their intentions.

TIME REFUND DAY gives us back all of those extra minutes we lost over the last four years. How are you going to spend this precious gift?
On Today’s Menu…

NATIONAL TOAST DAY pops up to that perfect shade of brown. This is easy to celebrate as all you have to do is add some butter, jam or even eat it dry. Mom would slice hardboiled eggs into white peppered gravy and smother the toast. That is still the best way to eat it – in my opinion.
