NATIONAL STUDENT NURSE DAY encourages all of those nurses-in-training to endure to the finish line.  We need you and your learned talents to care for us and keep us healthy.  RN’s go through four years of school with specialist training on top of that.  Thank you for your work and dedication.

Today we thank all of the people on the front line with NATIONAL RECEPTIONISTS’ DAY.  They are the first impression of your business, usually direct all of the communications and keep the office organized.  A nice lunch may be in order.  Thank you for all that you do.

Next, we give a tip of the hat to all of the nurses taking care of our kids.  NATIONAL SCHOOL NURSES’ DAY recognizes these caretakers and the job they do.  Anymore, education is part of the job as well, with the teaching of healthy lifestyles and clean hygienic practices.  Many thanks for taking care of the scrapes, headaches, giving of instruction, and care.

Now, we give a big shout out to everyone working while we sleep on NATIONAL THIRD SHIFT WORKERS DAY.  Sometimes the work schedule demands more hours to get the job done.  Sometimes, it works out better for the schedule at home.  Sometimes, those are the hours the employee wants to work.  The business keeps rolling, the lights stay on, and we get to rest because of these dedicated individuals.  Thank you, ladies, and gentlemen, for working when you do.

“Have a Coke and a Smile” on NATIONAL HAVE A COKE DAY.  Originally created to be an elixir, Coca-Cola was first touted as a non-alcoholic medicine that came out during the temperance movement on this day in 1886.  One of the most successful marketing campaigns in history led to the popularity of this soft drink and its memorabilia is in demand by collectors to this day.  Coke has branched out with Diet Coke, Caffeine Free Diet Coke, Frozen Coke and many more flavors.  Enjoy one today.

Our dessert of the day is sure to make most people very happy – NATIONAL COCONUT CREAM PIE DAY.  Fill up that pie crust with coconut pie filling and top it off with whipped cream and toasted coconut.  If someone you know is not into coconut, do not despair – I am sure a chocolate cream pie will substitute nicely.

God, your thoughts about me are priceless.
No one can possibly add them all up.
If I could count them,
they would be more than the grains of sand.
If I were to fall asleep counting and then wake up,
you would still be there with me. Psalm 139 17-18

  1. Kev, blessings for sharing these thoughts from Psalm 139. The Lord’s light will always be with us. Before I adjusted my eating lifestyle, coconut cream pie was one of my favorites.

    1. I love Psalm 139 – it reminds me of how well God knows me and yet He still loves me.

I could definitely go for a slice of that right now.
